San Jose, CA (prHWY.com) September 12, 2012 - Monday night August 27, some forty people, including people from the Wil-Mar school district, gathered at the Guerneville school gym for a demonstration and explanation of the 21st century technology the passage of bond Measure F is enabling the school to purchase.

Parents, teachers, school staff, board members as well as family members and friends of students plus the curious, assembled in the gym while two representatives of Comp View, Devorah Merling and Vanessa Lutz, brought and demonstrated Comp View's SMART solution, and explained its workings to the curious.

According to Comp View the company currently employs 120 people and provides complete design / build solutions, leading technology products, outstanding customer service and nationwide AV contracting services. Although they do all of the above. the equipment is manufactured in China.
The equipment on hand and fully assembled included:
SB-885ix interactive whiteboard system A SMART Table
, aSMART Response Demo
, Light Raise 40 wi Interactive Projector and a Sound Amplification system
The whiteboard is an interactive touch board that resembles a large computer screen and helps provide a digital classroom which may be shared simultaneously by other schools which have similar equipment. This one was mounted on a wheeled table for mobility. Each student gets a remote control with which to make selections i.e. on a multiple choice question. It instantly creates a pie graph showing the number of choices for each or otherwise interacts with the board's contents.

The choices above Merling's hand refer to how comfortable a teacher feels students with be with the new technology. Selections are made with the remote control and results are instantly tabulated and a pie graph created.

All text books pages may be digitally displayed on the whiteboard (with accompanying sound effects).

There's also a magnifier-projector which may send images to the whiteboard.

An obvious advantage is the aptitude of each student may immediately be assessed allowing teachers to focus on what they require based on individual needs.

The whiteboards cost in the neighborhood of $1500 and the table around which the people above are standing costs approximately $1000. We provided a list of the SMART learning

System's products and model numbers (above) in case anyone is motivated to see what it costs for a child to leap into the 21st century. For more information about our website http://www.bcaarchitects.com/
