2012 BolderLife Festival Programming Set to Inform and Provoke Both Discussion and Action
The BolderLife Festival launches its 2012 Event in Boulder, CO on September 19th - 23rd at the historic Nomad Theatre.

An element that sets the Festival apart from other festivals is the educational programming that is closely paired with the artistic programming and includes Call2ACTions, Expert Panels and Workshops. A featured speaker at this year's event is Dr. Judith Simmer-Brown who will be presenting on the creation of an enlightened society that is cognizant of, recognizes and honors the basic goodness of each member in that society. Since 1978, Dr. Simmer-Brown has served as the Professor of Religious Studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and has practiced Tibetan Buddhism for forty years. Also a featured speaker is Rosalind Wiseman, an internationally recognized expert on children, teens, parenting, bullying, social justice and ethical leadership. Rosalind is the author of "Queen Bees and Wannabes", the groundbreaking, bestselling book that was the basis for the movie Mean Girls, and will be delivering a Parent and Adolescent Workshop at the Festival.
This year, the Festival has also incorporated a Student Outreach Program in order to begin having an impact on future generations. Kelly believes that facets of the artistic and educational programming will inspire students to explore and understand other points of view. Included in the Student Programming is a Short Film Program consisting of several films created by Israeli and Palestinian students followed by a Peace Talks Workshop entitled "Toward a Positive Peace".
Another new concept this year -- an "Exploratorium" at one of the venue sites where festival goers can experience live music, art and dance pieces as well as fun, interactive open-air adventures. The quality of the festival goer experience was at the core of Kelly's vision. "We are committed to maximizing the interactive environment of our festival and come alive knowing that something in our program has made you laugh or made you cry or made you decide to act differently in some small (or big) way." states Kelly.
The BolderLife Festival kicks-off with an Opening Night Gala at 6:00PM, Wednesday, September 19th at the Nomad Theatre in North Boulder. For more information, visit www.bolderlifefestival.com.
