Great American Packaging Introduces Planning & Technical Specialist Position

Great American Packaging introduces newly created "Planning & Technical Specialist" position and hires Matt Freie to fill the role.

Los Angeles, CA (prHWY.com) September 20, 2012 - Sep 20, 2012 - Great American Packaging, Inc., a leader in custom poly bag manufacturing, has announced the addition of Matt Freie, Planning & Technical Specialist. The position was recently created to oversee process improvements, ensure orders are devised correctly and effectively carried out through production.

"When we decided to expand our team, we wanted to set-up a pre-op department to improve efficiency," said Greg Gurewitz, Owner. "Adding a planning & technical specialist will go a long way in streamlining communication between our sales department and production department."

Other primary duties include designing new orders and determining how jobs will run.

Freie is a 2012 graduate of California Polytechnic State University. He earned a bachelor of science in industrial technology and minored in packaging. The 23-year-old is optimistic about applying his education towards the growth of Great American Packaging.

"A major focal point of my education at Cal Poly was learning how to reform productivity through lean management styles in order to ensure wasteful processes are eliminated," stated Freie. "I am particularly excited to implement more of a pull system so we can create better flow throughout in the plant."
