CAT Exam Tips@ 20 days to CAT 2012: Tips on time management
This article shares with you the time management strategy for the remaining 20 days to CAT 2012.

The following steps will help in your time management.
Spend at least 5-6 hours for preparation: At this stage, you must spend as much time as possible for preparation. It will be sufficient if you spend around five-six hours daily and divide the time systematically," says Abhishek Gupta, vice-chairman, Career Launcher.
Devote equal time for each section: Both the sections of CAT require equal time for preparation. "For time management, it is imperative that you give equal importance to each of the sections. In exams where you have sectional cut offs, it is necessary to clear the cut offs for each section individually while maximizing scores in areas where you are strong," says Arjun Gupta, a CAT topper and first year student of XLRI Jamshedpur.
Divide time slots for revision, mock tests & analysis: Divide the seven days of the week wisely. You can keep three days for revision. Make sure you cover all the areas of the two sections. You must at least have the basic knowledge of the important topics. In the rest of the days, you can alternately take mock tests and analyze your performance. As experts say, you should at least take two mock tests per week, if not more.
Set time for solving questions: Use a stop watch to make the time management process more effective. "Every time you practise questions, do it with a timer on so as to optimize your performance. Students should make the most of every available minute. Try to solve questions in different time-slots and identify the best time well in advance. This helps a lot in maximizing performance," says Vishal Vyas, who scored 99.98 percentile in CAT 2011 and is a student of IIM Indore.
Choose test taking and revision time carefully: It is very important to select the time for taking mock tests and revision. Take mock tests during those hours when you have scheduled your actual test. For example, if you have selected the morning slot, start the mock test at 10 am.
During revision or preparation, choose a time when your concentration level stays at peak. It varies from person to person and the choice is entirely personal here.
