Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) September 25, 2012 - There are constant stories in the news about small town people making it bit in Hollywood, but Sandy Dunkin never thought that she would be one of those people. Sandy Dunkin had a love and passion for the recording arts, but her small town in Utah only allowed her to study at a local recording arts school. The ultimate goal for Sandy was to become a recording executive in a major city 100 miles away, but now that has all changed.

"I always thought that I'd be a recording executive in a big city in Utah", said Sandy Dunkin during an interview. "I never dreamed that I'd find my way to Hollywood one day. I always dreamed of it but I thought it was out of reach for me."

That dream to make it big in Hollywood would one day become a reality thanks to a competition held by the National Recording Arts Academy. This contest required that individuals submit a 5 minute video that showed them doing what they do best - working in the recording arts industry. Sandy submitted a fun, humorous approach to her day at the recording arts studio at her local college.

"I saw the contest and knew immediately that I had to be creative", said Dunkin. "I knew hundreds of people would be submitting videos and I just had to stand out from them. I thought a humorous approach would attract people's attention instead of a long drawn out sob story. I guess it worked."

Sandy's video that she submitted to the National Recording Arts Academy showed her working in the studio with three characters. The three characters all had different personalities and encouraged her to keep up the positive attitude during the day. The characters would randomly throw out one-liners that left people laughing.

"Sandy's video really stood out to us", said Dina Hall, contest director. "We had hundreds of thousands of videos showing us just how people spent their day in the recording arts studio. Sandy showed us what she did while adding a little humor to the video."

The winner of the contest offered by the National Recording Arts Academy would be flown to Hollywood and offered a chance to work with one of the hip-hop community's leading recording artists.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime", said Dunkin. "I don't know who I'll be working with but I have to say that this is a real honor and I can't believe I won."
