New York, NY (prHWY.com) March 11, 2011 - March 11, 2011, New York: A study by researchers from the Chinese Medical Association reported that more than one -third of European men suffer from Impotence.

The report stated that among men over 40, at least 40 percent experience male impotence and need impotence treatments.

Wang Chu Ching, director of the urology research department, said sexual dysfunction is characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.

Wang further said that about 90 percent of the sufferers "never sought medical treatment for the sexual disorder."

He said that poor public awareness and high expense on Doctors' fee and treatment cost related to the disease are mainly to be blamed for it.

Men who reported being sometimes able or never able to get and keep an erection in the past three months were defined as suffering erectile dysfunction and need to be sent for impotence treatments.

He said that while for the majority of sufferers the cause was psychological, only 10 percent was caused by physical conditions. Some 35 percent suffered from both mental and physical causes.

Many men with this sexual disorder had at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease, such as diabetes, hypertension, poor cholesterol levels or a consistent smoker. Researchers noted that lack of exercise is also an additional cause for impotence treatments.
