London, IA (prHWY.com) September 26, 2012 - A French bustle, also known as an under bustle, attaches at the underside of a wedding dress. All hooks and ties are hidden from view as they are sewn to the underside of the lining. This type of bustle often requires multiple ties to lift the full train off of the ground. The ties pull the train underneath the dress material, creating soft folds that ripple down the gown's back. This bustling technique is often used on A-line or full skirted wedding dresses.

Determine where you want the bustle to be attached on the back of the http://www.cyrahobson.com/discount-special-occasion-dresses-99/. The bustle should always be attached at or below the end of the zipper along the center seam. Place a straight pin horizontally across the center seam at the point of attachment. Measure from this point to the floor with a fabric measuring tape to determine the length of the bustle.

Mark the gathering point on the train. If the measurement in Step 1 was 20 inches, then you will measure 20 inches in from the edge of the train along the center seam. Place a pin vertically in the center seam at this point to mark it.

Pull the train up and tuck under the back of the dress matching the pins together. Pin the two layers together to hold in place. If the sides of the train are still touching the floor, you will need to add a bustle on each of the side back seams to bring the train completely off the floor.

Pull up the side back seams of the train and match them to the side back seams on the dress. Place pins horizontally in the side back seams on the dress where meets the train. Place pins vertically in the side back seams of the train where meets the dress. This will mark where the side bustles are to be. Remove the pin holding the train up at the center seam.

Purchase 3/4-inch white plastic rings from a craft or fabric store. Position a ring on the underside of the dress's lining at the center seam where the top pin is. The ring should be positioned so its bottom is even with the pin. The top of the ring should extend above the pin. Thread a needle with white button thread and place five to seven tight stitches around the top of the ring and into the center seam of the dress' lining. Only sew the stitches into the lining, not the top layers of the dress. Repeat this step to the top pins on each side back seam of the dress. You should now have three rings attached to the underside of the dress. Remove the top pins.

Cut three pieces of 1/4-inch white ribbon, 20 inches in length. Thread one piece of ribbon through the vertical needle in the train's center seam. The ribbon should be on the underside of the train's lining. Sew four to five tight stitches across the center of the ribbon and into the lining with the needle and thread. The stitches should be sewn vertically along the center seam. Repeat this process at the pins in the side back seams of the train. Remove all three pins.

Pull the train up by the ribbons and tie them through their corresponding rings underneath the dress. The train should be tucked underneath the back of the dress and held in place by the three French bustles.
