London-Based Director Uses Social Media to Raise Funds for Short Film
Young director Céline Terranova is using the crowd-funding website www.indiegogo.com as the platform to obtain the money necessary for her independent short film.
The film, Sherlock Holmes and the Stolen Emerald, is a three-minute comedic short film starring Canelle Hoppé, Darryl Neville, Edward Daw and David Forde amongst others. In the film, Sherlock Holmes is not the smartest man around but just a lucky person who takes all the credit for what Watson does. The film will be silent but not in black and white, and will be set in the fictional steampunk era, with costumes and decors created by Philip Higgs (standby art director on Kick Ass and production designer on many short films). Its comedy will bring to mind the works of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.
The cast is composed of a core ten actors as well as extras, and the crew comprises both experienced professionals and people new to filmmaking. The fundraising campaign is also present on social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter.

About Céline Terranova
Céline Terranova is a former scientist who left Belgium for London in early 2012 in order to pursue a filmmaking career. She has worked in various roles on several short films both before and after moving to England, and was a production assistant in Mavericks Storm Entertainment. She also worked on various events as a photographer and writes both screenplays and unpublished novels. Sherlock Holmes and the Stolen Emerald is her first UK production.
About the cast
Tom Bonington is not only as an actor but also a presenter and a voice-over artist.
Angus Chisholm has appeared on several plays as well as short films.
Edward Daw has been in several plays in London.
Originally from Spain, Adolfo Espina has acted in both Spanish and British films as well as on stage.
Anna Fiertag is both an actress and a successful scriptwriter.
David Forde is a versatile and experienced actor who has appeared in several short films as well as two feature films.
Daniel Garcia has appeared in several British productions, both short and feature films.
An actress for more than ten years, Canelle Hoppé has played various roles of strong women for feature films and tv series.
Darryl Neville has played in many short films since 2008 and is a very dedicated actor.
Helen Wilkes is first a stage actress, but has also acted in various short films.
