Gaining Work Experience While a Student Important to Torrey A. Leroy

Torrey Alvord Leroy is close to completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Yale University.

Detroit, MI (prHWY.com) October 1, 2012 - Torrey Alvord Leroy is close to completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Yale University. She is expecting to complete her degree in May 2013 and looks forward to beginning a successful professional working career. In order to make herself more marketable, Torrey Leroy--like other forward thinking college students - has participated in internships and has held two at her university.

Torrey A. Leroy first worked as a student for Yale University as a summer associate in both the summers of 2010 and 2011. As a summer associate, Torrey Leroy said she "assisted the Facilities Superintendents with overseeing, organizing, and maintaining buildings and staff for Yale graduation, reunions, and summer programs." She performed this duty two summers in a row, and the position also meant she was responsible, in an emergency, to coordinate responses. Torrey Leroy was responsible for this duty and her position 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout both summers.

After working with the Facilities Superintendents at Yale University, Torrey Alvord Leroy decided to take two internships in 2012. Her first internship she started in March 2012 for the Connecticut Department of Public Health in Hartford Connecticut. As a student intern working at the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Torrey A. Leroy "shadowed an epidemiologist..." and her work through the Department of Public Health "expanded skills in data collection, manipulation, and interpretation."

As a student focused on the future, Torrey Leroy knows that skills working with data are very important to maintain and grow. These skills became even more useful when she started another internship in the summer of 2012. During the summer months, Torrey Alvord Leroy began work as an Emerging Media Intern at Dynamic Logic/Millward Brown in New York, New York. As an intern, Torrey A. Leroy played a supporting role for Emerging Media Lab's research team. She did standard intern work like compiling weekly trend reports as well as coordinating data for clients like Macy's, P&G, and Audi.
