Care was also required to protect Metro-North's structures, UI's towers, or the new bridge from any blasting damage. This is where our years of expertise came in handy! This project that Maine Drilling and Blasting is handling involves the drilling and blasting of approximately 90,000 yards of mass rock and 4,000 yards of structure rock. This will then be used for a new train station parking lot and future building pad. With an estimated 225-250 trains pass by daily, the operations had to be timed perfectly, with minimum damage being caused to the already existing infrastructure in the vicinity.
