NMAT 2013 Exam: NMAT 2013 registration grows 20% at 67,000

The NMAT 2013 registration process ended on October 4, 2012. After the final registrations, around 67,000 applications have been received, up 20 per cent over the last year.

Noida, India (prHWY.com) October 8, 2012 - The NMAT 2013 registration process ended on October 4, 2012 with the number of total registration showing an increase of 20 per cent over the last year. Dr. Rajan Saxena, vice-chancellor, NMIMS Mumbai, told MBAUniverse.com, "After the final registrations, we have received around 67,000 applications, an increase of around 20 per cent over the previous year."

Dr Saxena also mentioned that the number of applications excluding the ones for retake is 62,720, an increase of 12 per cent. Last year, NMAT saw registration of 56,000. The application process for NMAT 2013 started from July 11, 2012.

In an earlier conversation with MBAUniverse.com, Dr. Saxena said, a majority of applications have come from the northern and western parts of the country, followed by southern and eastern India. Most of the candidates belong to the engineering background.

NMAT 2013 will start from October 11, 2012, and will be conducted till December 19, 2012. Candidates are allowed to take the test thrice and the best scores would be considered for admission. The rescheduling for examination is allowed from October 8 to December 17, 2012. The fee for each retake schedule is Rs 800.
After the first round of the registration, which was till September 25, 2012, there was an increase of 20 per cent.
This year too, the candidates are allowed to take thrice. According to NMIMS, apart from the original attempt, the NMAT 2013 takers are allowed to have a choice of two retakes. "The best of three scores shall be considered by NMIMS for admissions to MBA, MBA-Banking, MBA-Capital Market, MBA-Human Resources & MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses," states NMIMS.
NMAT has three sections, Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The total number of questions is 120. The duration is two hours. The Language Skills section has 32 questions with 22 minutes duration. Quantitative Skill has 48 questions with 60 minutes duration and Logical Reasoning section has 40 minutes with 38 minutes duration.
NMAT 2012 was held from Monday, October 31, 2011 to Friday, January 6, 2012.
