BHM Experts to Present at the WMCMA 2012 Conference

BHM Healthcare Solution will be exhibiting at the upcoming WMCMA Annual Conference and Expo 2012. BHM's President, Mark Rosenberg, MD, PhD, will be presenting "Behavioral/Medical Integration: a Holistic Approach to Case Management."

The Conference is given each year as part of WMCMA's ongoing educational programs. The Washington Medical Case Management Association, WMCMA, is a not-for profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of the profession of case management by providing its members with networking and continuing education offerings.

As part of the conference, expert consultant Mark Rosenberg from BHM ( a Healthcare Consulting Company ) will be presenting a program entitled "Behavioral/Medical Integration: a Holistic Approach to Case Management." Individualized Care Management (ICM) is a crucial part in the successful, holistic treatment of patients who present with complex cases involving primary care/behavioral health comorbidities. Treating patients who suffer from depression or other complex conditions can be challenging due to the gap between the provision of primary care and behavioral health services, complicating an integrated approach. In order to overcome these treatment obstacles, it is of pivotal importance that Case Managers familiarize themselves with the Integrated Case Management Model, and gain an understanding of holistic treatment.

Case Managers will learn not only how treatment impacts the whole person, but also how they can proactively play a part in facilitating care for the patient with a complex case. This presentation will provide an overview of the influence and importance in recognizing comorbidities in the treatment of patients with complex cases. Furthermore, the Integrated Case Management Model will be explored as it relates to addressing the behavioral health/primary care gap.
