Lakewood, NJ (prHWY.com) October 10, 2012 - It's getting to be that time again. The time of year where everyone seems to be more aware of superstitions. Don't get caught in the path of a black cat or walk under any ladders. Be careful you don't drop or break a mirror or you will have a rough 7 years. Brides should take care, for there are many superstitions, good luck vs. bad luck, traditions that many times overshadow the planning process of today's weddings.

These superstations span and vary the world over. In Finland, brides carry a match down the aisle to make sure their love keeps burning. Instead of saying their vows at the top of the hour, many Chinese couples start the ceremony at half past the hour, so as to begin their lives together when the clock is on an upswing. In one Italian tradition, couples have been known to smash a vase or glass at their wedding. However many pieces the glassware breaks into will symbolize how many years they'll be happily married. So to our fellow Italians, put some muscle into it...but check with your caterer first! Many traditions involve family and friends, but be sure that above all, you keep you first.
