Nowadays all mayor car hire companies will have a website with an online booking facility, where tourists usually can rent a car in a few simple steps. Travellers can also check at one of the many car rental comparison websites, where they will find an overview of available models, normally ordered by the cheapest first. It's a good way to avoid wasting time and money, because one does not need to check all the different websites one by one.

The prices quoted on the websites do normally include local taxes and basic insurance, but they do normally not include any additional services like a full tank of petrol, additional drivers, child seats, out of hour service charge when flights are delayed or arrive after the official opening hours of the car rental company, one way drop off charges which are applied when the vehicle is returned at a different rental station, refueling charges if a car is not returned with the same amount of fuel etc.

Make sure to always check if, apart from the base price, there are extra charges with a rent a car online. On any serious price comparison website visitors should be able to find these charges on the terms and conditions. Pay particular attention to the insurance policy, fuel regulations, age restrictions or cancellation charges.
