Is Illegal Immigration a core issue in U.S. Presidential Election?

Experts observe the changes in the mood of Romney and call the same as a "trick" to win the elections.

Avenue Surrey BC, Canada (prHWY.com) October 12, 2012 - Studies reveal that a quarter of U.S. tech companies have been founded by the immigrants. In fact, another study shows that 24.3% of engineering and technology companies have atleast one immigrant founder.


Obama Administration had announced DREAM ACT which allowed young undocumented immigrants to stay back in country for at least two more years. These had come with their parents as children. The eligibility criteria were that these undocumented immigrants must have been less than 16 years of age and now they should not be more than 30 years. It is mandatory that they must have been living in USA without disruption after they came here.


President Barack Obama expresses his views on Immigration andsays, "We are the first nation to be founded for the sake of an idea-that each of us deserves the chance to shape our destiny. That's why centuries of pioneers and immigrants have risked everything to come here."


Obama informs that in the last three years, his administration has taken every step to fix the "broken immigration system" and make improvements in the legal process of immigration.


According to him the 21stCentury Immigration System should include border security; strict handling of employers who exploit undocumented immigrants and the laws should be enabling to unify the families. He also appeals the people staying illegally here to be on the right side of the law. They have the option of registering under national security check, paying thetaxes and learning English for their better settlement.


On the other hand, Mitt Romney says he would allow the young undocumentedimmigrants to stay back in the country even after they complete the tenure of two years.


Romney informs, "The people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place, which is a two year visa, should expect that the visa would continue to be valid." He adds, "Before those visas have expired we will have the full immigration reform plan that I've proposed."


He has condemned the steps of illegal immigrants being allowed to go to the colleges of Texas but he stronglysupports the path of citizenship for illegal immigrants.


He also said, "I'm not going to deport people off from the country, I will put an immigration reform that will solve this issue."


He also urges people who are staying illegally in USA and do not have a job to leave the country on their own, which means he is supporting "self -deportation."

His supporters though propose that he hasn't become soft on all illegal immigrants rather, he is only proposing to allow those undocumented young immigrants to stay back who came here with their parents at a very young age.
