Manchester, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) October 15, 2012 - Those of you that may have recently taken out a consolidation loan may be looking at ways to keep within your budget and avoid overspending.

Please see below for some Money Saving Tips, devised by our Consolidation loan team;

Switch to a cheaper Gas & Electricity
Fuel prices have increased dramatically this year but this means you could save upto £50 per month by switching to a cheaper supplier. Phone to check whether you are overpaying for your energy at Energyhelpline 0800 881 8578.

Shop online
The major supermarkets have great secure websites, often with food offers. Buying online also minimises 'hunger' buying, i.e. buying products you don't really need! Mysupermarket.com is a very effective site - it combines 4 sites - Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Occado. You can fill your basket online and it tells you which products are cheaper from a different store. You can then do your weekly shopping online knowing you are getting the cheapest price possible.

Buy own brand foods
Try to buy the supermarkets own brands, they taste much the same but for half the price (in some cases!)

Drink tap water
Instead of buying your usual bottle of Evian drink tap water, it's just the same without the label, plus it's good for you! If you are unsure about the quality of tap water in your area there is some very interesting information at www.dwi.gov.uk/consumer/faq/tapwater.htm.

Install a water meter
Installing a water meter is free and means you only pay for the water you use. To see if you would save money installing a meter visit: www.savewatersavemoney.co.uk this has some advice on installing a meter but also has some great water saving tips. Also www.ofwat.gov.uk- consumer issues has some useful info and contact numbers or just ring your local water authority and they can advise you.

Sell on Ebay
Ebay is a great way to sell your unwanted things online, it will also de-clutter your home & earn you some extra cash. Go to www.ebay.co.uk to find out how to set your account up. If you are still uncertain find a friend who has mastered art of selling online and see how its done.
