Families Build Bigger Better Relationships Over Fun Girl Games
Growing up as a teenager in this day and age can be tough. Parents are often too busy with work, family responsibilities and other things to keep track of everything teenagers need. This is exact problem is what a group of parents in Miami

A Bigger Stronger Bond is a group of parents who have made a commitment to help their teenage daughters grow up big, strong and independent. The group builds stronger bonds between parents and children by offering numerous activities and conventions designed to enhance their relationship.
"We noticed there wasn't really anything in place to help parents connect with their teenage daughters", said Sarah Sandy, founder of Bigger Stronger Bond.
"People wrongly assume that parents don't want to connect with their daughters, but the truth is sometimes they just don't know how."
The group of parents and teenage daughters meet at several locations all around Miami and work to build the bond between the two groups. The most popular aspect of these conventions and get-togethers tend to be the numerous fun girl games that the groups play together.
"We found that playing games together can really strengthen the bond between parents and children", said Sandy. "We offer numerous fun girls games to the convention participants. They take part in them and they start to build up their relationship."
Researchers believe that playing games together can build a relationship between parents and children because it gives them a chance to talk. While playing the game children are encouraged to open up about their day, talk about their problems or just have fun while sharing stories.
"The biggest problem is that parents don't know how to approach their children and really talk with them", said Sandy. "The fun games offer them the avenue they need to really sit down and talk with their child."
Parents will sometimes feel awkward talking with their child when they first attend the conference, but after a while everyone is talking, sharing stories and laughing together. Over 75% of the conference's participants report feeling as if the convention helped them build a better bond with their daughter.
"I just didn't know how to connect with my daughter", said Teri Sword, a parent of a 15 year old girl. "I just couldn't relate to anything she was saying and sometimes I felt no one was listening. We attended this conference and it really helped us build upon our relationship and grow as a family."
Bigger Stronger Bond plans on expanding to other states and cities within the next year. The next state to offer this type of conference is expected to be California.
