Masaharu Blair Hoashi Celebrates 15 Years With Honolulu Marathon Clinic

Masaharu Blair Hoashi, a finance professional in Honolulu, Hawaii, is celebrating fourteen years of volunteer service with the Honolulu Marathon Clinic; 15 years as a member.

Detroit, MI (prHWY.com) October 16, 2012 - Honolulu, Hawaii -- Masaharu Blair Hoashi is currently celebrating fifteen years with the Honolulu Marathon Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Masaharu Blair Hoashi first began volunteering with the Clinic in 1998 when he decided he wanted to run a marathon. Never having completed such a feat, Hoashi decided to seek out the counsel of an experienced organization.

"I knew running a marathon would be tough," says Masaharu Blair Hoashi, "but I don't think I knew at the time just how hard it would be. I'm glad I had the common sense back then to seek out an organization that could help me train. I'm so fortunate to have found the support and camaraderie at the Honolulu Marathon Clinic."

The Clinic is known throughout Hawaii for helping people complete this amazing feat of endurance. The Clinic accepts runners of all ages and with all kinds of health conditions (a medical checkup is recommended before joining the clinic). Many participants in the Honolulu Marathon Clinic's training programs have struggled with heart conditions and other health problems in the past.

"Really, I'm not aware of any other organization that does anything like this," says Masaharu Blair Hoashi. "I'm honored just to be associated with them!" Masaharu Blair Hoashi is a staff leader and Board Member with the Honolulu Marathon Clinic, two positions he has held after he first joined the clinic in 1998.

Masaharu Blair Hoashi has enjoyed volunteering his time with the Clinic outside of his professional career in finance. "It's been a great way for me to get away from the busy world of investments," says Masaharu Blair Hoashi. "I don't know how I would get along without the Clinic."

In addition to volunteering, Masaharu Blair Hoashi does the weekly newsletter for the Honolulu Marathon Clinic. His weekly newsletter appears on the Clinic's website and also is sent to over 1000 subscribers throughout the world. And, it offers readers everything from dietary to training advice and more. "Writing that newsletter has been a lot of fun for me," says Masaharu Blair Hoashi. "Some weeks it challenges me. But, most weeks I just have a great time sharing what I've learned with others." The other staff leaders contribute info about their groups and I generally compile this into the newsletter.
