Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) October 16, 2012 - Celebrities are always the first to create a trend that the rest of the world follows. Sometimes the trend has to do with favorite restaurants people visit; sometimes it has to do with clothing. This time it has to do with the type of cars people drive, or in this case the type of cart people drive.

Celebrities all over Hollywood, New York City and Miami have been spotted driving around town in luxury golf carts. These aren't the traditional golf carts that are usually found on golf courses, these are road approved golf carts.

"Celebrities love to make an impact statement", said Hollywood gossip columnist, Joe Strain. "I noticed that the latest trend in Hollywood tends to be that people will arrive at premiers or a night out on the town in a luxury golf cart."

These golf carts feature bright, vibrant colors that really make the whole thing pop. They also feature bright, shiny wheels and chrome trim. In fact, these golf carts are so decked out they almost resemble mini limos.

"I was attending a movie premier when one of the celebrities pulled up in one of these carts", said Strain. "I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a little funny at first. In fact, many of the local reporters thought it was some joke then this A list celeb came out."

Only a handful of celebrities were using the golf carts as a form of transportation. In fact, a local golf cart dealership estimated that only about 4% of its clients were celebrities. However, that number has increased.

Today, almost 50% of all celebrities are using this type of transportation to get to and from premiers and events all over Hollywood. This celebrity trend has become so popular that celebrities in Miami and New York City are requesting to have these fancy carts.

"We used to rent limos to celebrities", said Tad Ling, owner of a limo rental company in New York City. "We would constantly have people asking for stretch limos. Now, we have our clientele calling and asking if we have the luxury golf carts. They want to be seen in these types of cars and vehicles."

The luxury golf carts are approximately the same price of a mid-size car. Fully equipped these golf carts can run up to $40,000 depending upon the details and other items the celebrity has put on the golf cart.
