Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (prHWY.com) October 17, 2012 - Fitness for Evaluation is a multi-disciplinary engineering approach that is used to determine if equipment is fit to continue operation for some desired future period. The equipment may contain flaws, have sustained damage, or have aged so that it cannot be evaluated by use of the original construction codes. API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 is a comprehensive consensus industry recommended practice that can be used to analyze, evaluate, and monitor equipment for continued operation. The main types of equipment covered by this standard are pressure vessels, piping, and tanks. This course is timely, emphasizing the practical application of a recently updated standard.

Completing this course will help participants understand and to apply the rules of API 579/ASME FFS" Fitness-for-Service" Standard to evaluate the integrity and remaining life of tanks, pressure vessels, piping systems and pipelines. In this program, you will learn the principles of fitness-for-service, their practical application through case histories, and a step-by-step evaluation process for each type of degradation mechanism and review of the application of API 579/ASME FFS to brittle fracture, general metal loss, local wall thinning, pitting, blisters, mechanical defects (dents, misalignment, and distortion), crack-like flaws (stress corrosion cracking, weld flaws, crack-like defects), fatigue, and fire damage).

You Will Learn the Latest Technique to Determine the
- Fitness-for-service of operating tanks, vessels, piping systems and pipelines and make cost-effective run-or-repair decisions based on the principles of API 579-1/ASME FFS "Fitness-for-Service"
- Have a balanced approach between the fundamental technical principles of structural integrity, stress and fracture analysis, and their practical application to field conditions
- Develop the practical application of the ASME and API rules for structural integrity of static equipment and pipelines, and their use to assess remaining life
- Apply the standard API 579/ASME FFS "Fitness-for-Service" through practical examples to analyze degraded conditions and make cost-effective repair

Who Should Attend
This course is intended for design and system engineers, integrity engineers, inspectors, project and maintenance engineers who are personally responsible for the reliable design, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, systems, tanks, vessels, piping and pipelines.

Pre-registration is required. Register at www.toplink-asia.com or call for our Johor Bahru Office (607 - 2254888) for further information.
