Pasig, Philippines (prHWY.com) October 19, 2012 - A rock band rose on October 17 in the midst of a 5.5 magnitude earthquake that rattled the country.

Salt, a modern punk band, entered the mainstream music industry of New Zealand as the quake hit 38 miles of southern Rotorua and 186 miles of Wellington city.

The munk (modern punk) band was campaigning its debut album, "Radio Station" across the cities when the grounds jolted and put citizens to an emergency drill.

Salt Band Manager and pianist Rachael Watson was organizing events for the band through its Record Label-- Maelstrom PR when the commotion occurred in city centers.

According to reports, the quake lasted for 15 seconds, causing a sharp shiver and quaver afterwards. A central shopping area in Taupo was seen swaying as well as some workers taking emergency drill. No injuries were reported though.

The Salt Band pursued activities in cities amidst the rumble, and Maelstrom PR pushed for bridging events such as gigs, local concerts, and media appearances. The munk band received support for online PR campaign from its website developer, NetMusketeer. Salt is expected to hit the masses' patronage in November.

Salt band consists of Brett McGuigan (Bass/Vocals/Song writer), Mike Nelson (Lead and Rhythm Guitar/
Backing Vocals), Luke Cooke (Drums/ Backing Vocals), and Rachael Jane (Keys).

According to NetMusketeer Manager Hazel Crizaldo, "SALT's music is a unique rendition of progressive punk rock music. The band is distinct among its contemporaries-- Pink Floyd, Cardiacs, and U2 as Salt dawns on a modern punk (munk)".

Salt originated from Christchurch, New Zealand. They released their debut album, Radio Station, in July 2012. The carrier single, "Radio Station" has become a hit in myspace first and garnered fans online. The munk artists signed a contract with Voodoo Recording Studios and Sunset Records this year to produce "Radio Station".

As www.netmusketeer.com posted, "Salt- the new munk to season the mainstream".
