Is environmental contamination hindering site redevelopment in your community? If so, you need to know about the financial tools that are available to help you remove these barriers to site redevelopment.

These sources of funding include Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants, for which applications are due by November 19, 2012. The EPA Grants include:

Up to $400,000 for EPA Assessment and Community-Wide Assessment grants

$200,000 for site-specific Assessment grants for hazardous substances or petroleum sites

$600,000 for Coalition Assessment grants

$200,000 for EPA Cleanup grants to conduct cleanup activities at Brownfield sites

$1,000,000 for EPA Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) grants that provide funding to capitalize a revolving loan fund and to provide sub grants to carry out cleanup activities at Brownfield sites

$200,000 for Brownfield Area-Wide Planning grant to help communities develop area-wide plans and implementation strategies to facilitate Brownfield assessment, cleanup, and subsequent reuse. Deadline for submissions is November 30, 2012.
