Redding Music Features Experimental Northern California Bands

Archaic Radio, CHUDs basement coffee house, and Garpco Records will be hosting an event in downtown Redding California November 3rd at CHUDs coffee shop on Yuba street. The event starts promptly at eight pm and there is no cover charge.

Redding, CA (prHWY.com) October 27, 2012 - Archaic Radio, CHUDs basement coffee house, and Garpco Records will be hosting an event in downtown Redding California November 3rd at CHUDs coffee shop on Yuba street. The event starts promptly at eight pm and there is no cover charge.

The evening will start with a Halloween inspired playlist and live painting. The painters will be featured artists from around the Redding area. The created paintings will be for sale with selected works being raffled off to benefit the Redding underground music venue.

Many local psychedelic jam bands will be performing throughout the evening at the Halloween and horror inspired music and art event. Redding has a long history of powerful psychedelic bands from the defunct Vertels to the Uncanny Valley.

The OMG Trio is a pseudo-electronica act featuring heavy real time loops with ambient drums and atmospheric melodies. This two pieces plus guest is a favorite around Redding venues and coffee shops. Look to their melodic trance induced set to gain more and more traction in Redding

The Symbiotic Cacophony Orchestra is a massive collection of many Redding mainstay musicians. Their shows pick a house and are sure to expand even the most seasoned music fans consciousness. Always a crowd favorite the Symbiotic Cacophony Orchestra has been playing in Redding in one form or another for almost a decade.

The Schoolmarms are borderline industrial artcore focusing on heavy guitar riffs and cerebral poetry. The drama spread across the stage is greatly complimented by the bands musical narratives. Pappy Shakes, the bands front man, is likened to Welford Brimley and a Baptist preacher while Waylon Diablo's guitar style is so jittery it leaves no room for another set of strings.

Seven Teeth of Saturn are a Redding experimental band like no other with layered harmonies and up front synths. The dream state groves laid down by this band are seemingly infectious. Always atmospheric and melodious with a sometimes beautiful dissonance, Seven Teeth of Saturn brings a relaxed vibe to the event.

The Uncanny Valley are a new addition to the psychedelic Redding music scene featuring former members of the Redding warlocks. The bands surreal experiments blend the ambient with the sixties retro movement.

The Universal Rhythm Section are an experimental group covering the spectrum of surreal performance from dj and video samples to orchestral soundtracks. Featured on movie soundtracks and in clubs the Universal Rhythm Section has acquired quite a diverse following.

The event is open to the public. All Redding musicians and fans of music in Redding are welcome to attend. The event will take place at CHUDs Basement Dojo in Downtown Redding, November 3rd 2012.

The music and arts scene in trying is slowly growing and needs your support. The arts scene in Redding has been growing over the years and needs the help of events such as this one in order to continue making its impact on the northern California art movement. Attending this or any other Redding music event will greatly help the scene of artists and fans to grow the scene into a cultural force in the North state.
