Noida, India (prHWY.com) November 1, 2012 - The Day 16 of CAT 2012 was held on October 31. The day carried some tough 'quant questions' for the test takers, even as the overall difficulty level was moderate to difficult. According to test takers, the quantitative ability & data interpretation section was very tough. In the second section, verbal ability was of the moderate difficulty level and questions from logical reasoning were easy.

Vinayak Kudva, product head, IMS Learning, said: "Today's CAT exam was no different from the previous few days. The first section was on the tougher side. The verbal ability & logical reasoning section was of lesser difficulty level, but VA questions were moderate."
Shijo Matthew, a test taker at a Noida test center, said, "Quant was unexpectedly difficult. Although he did anticipated it to be tough, the paper was beyond its expectation so far as the difficulty level is concerned. Even DI was tricky and tough."

Navneet Singh, a candidate from Delhi, said, "The Quant questions were too tough to me. I did not encounter such difficult questions even in my mocks. DI was tricky too. I had a tough time solving the first section. The second section was manageable."

Following is the section-wise description of the exam.

Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation

The quantitative ability area had questions from algebra, geometry, number system, P&C, mensuration, functions, trigonometry, time-space-distance, height & distance and logarithms. "Geometry and mensuration had the highest number of questions (four each). DI too was tricky with two sets and eight questions," said Shijo.

Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning

The verbal ability questions were moderate. One of the RC passages was quite lengthy and difficult to comprehend. The other questions were on para jumble, vocabulary, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, etc. Navneet mentioned, "Vocabulary questions were confusing but others were easy. One of the passages was hard to crack. LR was a sitter."

CAT 2012 has been taken by 1, 39, 138 candidates so far. The last day of CAT 2012 is on November 6, 2012.
