The King of Bhangra Daler Mehndi will regale Mumbaikars on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi. The concert is open to all. The venue Tulip Star Hotel will be engulfed with the power pitched mesmerizing voice of the 'Sardar of the Swing'.

New Delhi-37, India (prHWY.com) April 8, 2011 - The King of Bhangra Daler Mehndi will regale Mumbaikars on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi. The concert is open to all. The venue Tulip Star Hotel will be engulfed with the power pitched mesmerizing voice of the 'Sardar of the Swing'.

The concert, organized by Punjabi Association, a pioneer body of Punjabi's founded by Late Shri Prithviraj Kapoorji, starts at 6.30 pm.

Baisakhi, the date establishes the foundation of Indian freedom to which "Hindustan" owes its free and independent identity. The day, which traditionally marks the beginnings of harvest season that yields nourishment for the body, simultaneously celebrates the initiation of Khalsa or Pure, empowering the inner self on a holistic level.

When asked about the Baisakhi celebrations, Mehndi expressed, "After 800 years of being Slaves, for the first time in the history of slavery habitual, slavery modeled and oppressive, fearful country, the tenth Guru, Maharaja Shri Guru Gobind Singh created an army of saints and soldiers. The first Sikhs hailed from the lowest castes and from places like Jaggannath Puri, Bidar, Dwarka, Hastinapur and Lahore. He made a fighter out of a common man. The army of such Saints and Soldiers helped "Hindustan" become free and retain its identity of being "Hindustan" - a free, democratic, land of peers, saints, gurus, of many religious beliefs, varied languages and cultures".

This day celebrates the initiation of equality of both men and women with integrity and high self esteem with a power to fight oppression and at the same time being one with the Universal Being.
Mehndi will be celebrating this eventful historic day in the glitz capital of the country Mumbai making people dance and making them remember the importance of this day. On asking about the concert, Mehndi quoted,"I am highly excited to perform 'Raajan ke Raja' from the 'Dasam Granth' and other pop and Bollywood hits to color the event of Baisakhi with shades of Mehndi."
