The short bob is a much fresher style than Blair Waldorf's long locks. The 26-year-old, who is reportedly also planning a move to the West Coast, was spotted in Los Angeles on Wednesday having lunch with a mystery man.Leighton, who was most recently linked to sexy Brazilian artist Aaron Himelstein, 27, chatted with the handsome young man outside a restaurant before heading off alone.

According to Page Six, co-star Michelle Trachtenberg who plays Georgina Sparks, hosted a going away party for Meester the night of the wrap party. Queen bee: Blair Waldorf's character was synonymous with her long, perfectly coiffed locks. Meanwhile Leighton, who most recently starred in That's My Boy, alongside Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, is clearly relishing her new freedom.

'I think the best part is that now I can pretty much do whatever I want with my life. I can visit my family as much as I want and be open for other projects,' she told Refinery29. 'I think you sort of get into a comfort zone when you are on a show for so long and you stop being stimulated by the character. As much as I loved the people I work with, I'm ready to move on. I don't want to be a Blair-like character in a movie, ever.'

But as the hit teen drama series Gossip Girl comes to an end after its six season, Leighton Meester, clearly felt that it was time for a fresh start and a new look.
The natural blonde, known for playing the scheming socialite, debuted a more youthful, short, wavy bob this week complementing her floral Front Zipper Herve Leger Black Foil-print Bandage Dress and trendy ankle boots . Leighton Meester shows off her new, edgy style.

Leighton, who dyed her hair for the role five years ago told JustJared.com: 'I chopped off my hair after Gossip Girl wrapped.'The Country Strong star, who entrusted Gossip Girl hairstylist Lizzie Reilly to give her the mane makeover said: 'I love it....My long, wavy hair got a lot of mileage, so it was time for a change.'Blair's dark hair, and competitive streak was used with great effect as a contrast to Blake Lively's bubbly blonde Serena van der Woodsen.
