Webster, NY (prHWY.com) November 9, 2012 - Rochester, NY 6th November: People who love playing Hot Wheels will be excited to know that they can actually ride one of them for real. Inspired byHot Wheels, Chevy has launched a limited edition Camaro which was shown at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. These Camaro Hot Wheels will be in production during early 2013 in limited numbers.
This is the first time a full size, production Hot Wheels car is offered for sale by an automaker. Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing said,"Millions of us grew up playing with Hot Wheels. Offering a special production model of the Camaro Hot Wheels is an opportunity to bring those memories to life, for kids of all ages."
The appearance of the Camaro Hot Wheels is remarkably similar to the Hot Wheel toys. People will notice the vibrant metallic paint, grill and rear spoiler, some matte black trim and the Hot Wheels flame badges, and will remind them of their childhood days.
These Hot Wheels are designed with either a 2LT(V-6) or 2SS (V-8) and include a number of accessories from Camaro ZL1. They include the rear spoiler, upper grille, front splitter and side skirts, and a set of 21-inch black wheels. The interior featuresblack leather-trimmed surfaces with red and black seat stitching, alongwith the Hot Wheels flame logo on the front seats. The instrument panel and door are black, with the Hot Wheels flame on each door. The 2LT trim comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 323 horsepower with an automatic transmission, whereas 2SS modelcomes with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 400-horsepower with a manual transmission.
Buyers of the 2SS and 2LT models will get a dual-mode exhaust systemanda vacuum-actuated exhaust for a quieter driving experience at low engine speeds and an aggressive sound during hard acceleration.Chevy's My Link infotainment system is standard on all Camaro Hot Wheels Editions.

Note, the original Custom Camaro 1:64-scale toy from 1968 was one of the original 16 Hot Wheels made and is one of the most valuable among Hot Wheels collectors. With this being the first Hot Wheels toy transformed to a real car, it's sure to be quite the collectable one day as well.
