After going through many sites that sold the R4 card that had run out of stock due to the crazy demand I finally found one site that had the stock and bought them for 45$.

It was shipped to my house in a neatly shrink wrapped package and it had several goodies for the Nintendo DS R4 card. It had the installation CD, a plastic case for the R4 card, a Micro SD card reader, an R4 cartridge holder keychain along with the R4 card. The R4 card employs a hassle free drag and drop method to load file onto the Nintendo DS. All you have to do is load all the data you need for the Nintendo DS into a Micro SD card and insert the card into the memory slot of the Nintendo DS R4 card. Plug the R4 card into the slot 1 of the console. You can even play songs and movies on the Nintendo DS with the R4 card. I tested 20 games on the Nintendo DS with the R4 card and they all worked perfectly without any lagging. The R4 card even worked without any troubles in multiplayer through Wi-Fi. The only problem I noticed was the reduced battery life because of the R4 card and also the spring loading mechanism felt a bit fragile. The official website comes up with several firmware updates that are available for free to anyone to download.


Soon after its release the Demand for the R4 card grew so quickly that even though many webstores sell it the all ran out of stock. Even though many haven't heard of a thing called the Nintendo DS R4 card, those who do hear of it want to buy it. The R4 card even allows you to load eBooks onto your console and read them so you can carry around a huge library in a Micro SD card and read it on the Nintendo DS.
