Audio Engineering School Teams Up to Provide Zoo Visitors Realistic Experiences
Zoos are often thought of as a way to provide people with a unique hands-on experience with exotic animals from all across the globe. One of the biggest complaints many visitors to zoos have is that they are unable to really experience

"Many visitors tell us it is nice to see what the animals see and see where they live, but they would love to really experience the area and hear what they hear", said zoo manager, Sally Summers. "The noises that happen with a zoo can often drown out this audio experience for people, and we have been looking for a way to change that."
Sally Summers has teamed up with several up-and-coming students in the audio engineering schools around the area. She has worked with the students to create a zoo experience that will really allow visitors to hear what the animals hear.
"We are working together to create a realistic audio experience that zoo visitors will love", said Sally Summers. "This requires us to record the sounds, place them on audio tracks and develop a way for visitors to listen to these sounds while not interferring with the animals."
The audio engineering school students have developed a way to make this happen. They plan on taking over a hundred hours of recorded audio footage and condense it into a small clip that zoo visitors can listen to when they visit.
"We created a whole audio experience that will allow visitors to plug their headset into a platform and it will pipe out sounds to them", said Tommy Hill, an audio engineering student who is working closely on the project. "What we offer as a unique experience is that the sounds they hear will change every few weeks. We will be updating them with the sounds that we capture over time."
While many zoos offer a unique audio experience to visitors, this audio experience will be the first time that visitors won't hear the same thing twice. The constantly updated audio tracks will keep the sounds visitors hear unique.
"This really will give visitors a chance to fully embrace the experiences the animals go through", explained Sally Summers. "We are not only providing the actual animals, the actual physical surroundings, but we are providing the audio experience too. It will be something that families and visitors will remember for many many years."
