Imdaad, which is a major sponsor of the championships, will extend power generation services to the event through Imdaad Power, a division established to address temporary power requirements of projects and industries in the GCC.

The 9th Asian Swimming Championships, which will gather entries from 30 countries, will be a qualifying event for the FINA Swimming World Championships in July 2013. This year's edition will be the first time in the history of the event that four swimming disciplines will be hosted in the same venue: swimming, synchronised swimming, water polo and diving.
