Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) November 19, 2012 - Class reunions are often thought of as one day affairs where former classmates gather to catch up with each other and share old memories, but one high school in northern Montana is trying a whole new class reunion experience. Stanford High School is creating a yearlong class reunion that allows all former students to reenact their favorite high school moments.

"We noticed that many of our high school reunions were filled with former classmates sharing memories of their favorite moments", said the alumni director for Stanford. "We thought that it would be a fun idea to let the former classmates reenact their favorite moments, but only this time it's 10, 20 or 30 years in the future."

The yearlong class reunion is filled with multiple activities that all former students are invited too. Students are invited to reenact their high school homecoming dance, their favorite football or basketball game, and any other favorite moments.

"We send out a survey about two years before the class reunion to see what moments all the students enjoyed the most", explains the alumni director. "We then take the answers to that survey and plan out the entire class reunion. This makes each class reunion unique to each individual class."

This yearlong class reunion structure is made possible by the fact that over 90% of all graduates from Stanford High School stay within the northern Montana area. This allows all the former students to gather together several times throughout the year without major planning.

"I don't think this would be possible if we had students scattered all across the country", said the alumni director. "There wouldn't be a way to get all the students together and it would be kind of disappointing. This works because everyone is so close. I think the furthest student lived in Seattle, Washington, but was willing to travel to a majority of the events."

The response to this yearlong class reunion was extremely positive. In fact, several high schools in the area have called Stanford to try and see if they could implement this type of class reunion for their former students.

"When I heard about this type of class reunion I was a little surprised", explained Neil Young, a graduate of the 1995 Stanford High School class. "I mean who wants to reenact favorite moments from their high school days, but it turned into something that was really fun. I mean, yeah, we're older but it was fun playing football or basketball again like the old days!"
