Nazi Oven Puzzle Pulled From Amazon reports MuseumPuzzles.com
German politician sought action from online retailer

A German politician found the item for sale at the online retail giant in October and contacted Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to demand its withdrawal.
Gerda Hasselfeldt, who leads the Christian Social Union's parliamentary delegation, called the photo of the crematorium at the Dachau concentration camp "incredibly tasteless," in a statement on her website.
The puzzle was advertised as appropriate for children eight and older. It was retailing for $24.99 and contains 252 pieces, according to a report by Agence France-Presse. The two ovens it depicts are from a crematorium used to burn bodies of inmates.
Amazon representatives in German declined to comment, but Hasselfeldt said the puzzle no longer appeared for sale.
"The puzzle which shows ovens at the Dachau concentration camp has been withdrawn from sale by Amazon," Hasselfeldt stated.
Hasselfeldt represents the area where the concentration camp was. Her political organization is a sister party to the Christian Democrats, the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"No one must accept that the victims of the inhumane killing machine of the Third Reich are mocked and distributors thus make money," Hasselfeldt stated.
The puzzle was not available for purchase on Amazon's German site.
Up to 43,000 prisoners were killed in Dachau before American forces liberated the Bavarian concentration camp in 1945. It held more than 200,000 inmates, including Jews, homosexuals, Roma and prisoners of war.
