AT&I Systems Stresses the Value of Security Cameras in Fort Lauderdale
AT&I Security Systems is calling attention to the importance of security cameras in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas in the wake of the gruesome cannibal attack in Miami last May.

News reports say that an eyewitness alerted a police officer after coming across a naked man attacking someone in the MacArthur Causeway. When the officer ordered the assailant - a 31-year-old homeless man identified as Rudy Eugene - to step away, the man reportedly raised his head, pieces of flesh visible in his mouth, and growled before resuming his attack.
Eugene, believed to have been in a drug-induced psychosis at the time, kept up his attack even after being shot once. Miami Police eventually had to fire multiple times to stop him. The victim, identified as 65-year-old Ronald Poppo, was immediately transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment. He has since then recovered, but lost up to 80% of his face.
A surveillance camera was able to capture footage of the incident. Video footage indicated that the attack continued for 18 minutes until the arrival of the police officer. Together with eyewitness accounts, the footage allowed Miami Police to make sense of the events leading up to the attack.
The company believes that there is a lesson in this incident and advises companies to take caution. AT&I Security recommends an investment in certified security equipment and factory-trained service crews. Should one's premises be compromised, surveillance footage can provide details on the incident and later on help resolve the case.
The company helps companies boost their security through their high-quality Miami surveillance systems. For more information, visit them online at www.ATISecuritySystems.com.
