Newest model will feature improved fuel economy

Miami, FL (prHWY.com) April 18, 2011 - In an effort to give driver's more eco-friendly options, your Pembroke Pines Buick dealer has announced that they will be releasing a 2012 Buick Regal eAssist model. The Regal eAssist joins the 2012 Enclave as the second Hollywood, FL Buick model with this exciting fuel-saving technology. Here at Lehman Buick GMC, we can't wait for the arrival!

The Buick Regal eAssist will be powered by a small 2.4-cylinder electric engine, a state-of-the-art lithium ion battery system, and an electric induction motor-generator. This powertrain delivers fuel economy figures that are improved by 25% as compared to the 2011 4-cylinder, 6-speed transmission model. In fact, it is estimated that the Regal eAssist will earn 26 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway, making 31.5 miles per gallon combined!
These great fuel economy figures are in part due to the Regal eAssist's automatic Start Stop and its regenerative braking, the latter of which provides up to 15 kW of electricity to charge the battery!

Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing, explains that "Buick's eAssist technology means customers don't have to trade a premium driving experience for efficiency. ... We believe Regal and LaCrosse with eAssist provide more logical and affordable choices, compared to other hybrid midsize and full-size luxury sedans."
