The ALM Media selections to the "Top Ranked Law Firms" list are based on Martindale-Hubbell peer-review ratings. Only firms with at least ten attorneys - of which one-third or higher are peer-ranked as "AV Preeminent," Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating, are selected for inclusion. Martindale-Hubbell describes "AV Preeminent" as, "...a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence."
