Historic Museum Welcomes Festive Period with New Website and Exhibitions

The Victoria Gallery & Museum (VG&M), which is part of the prestigious University of Liverpool and housed in the Grade II listed Victoria Building, is pleased to announce a range of exciting developments.

Liverpool, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) November 22, 2012 - The Victoria Gallery & Museum (VG&M), which is part of the prestigious University of Liverpool and housed in the Grade II listed Victoria Building, is pleased to announce a range of exciting developments. As well as publishing its itinerary for the run up to Christmas, the gallery and museum is also unveiling a brand new website which it hopes will encourage more individuals to visit the historic location.

The VG&M is situated on Brownlow Hill in the University of Liverpool's flagship building, designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the architect's distinctive red brick style and opened in 1892. This inspired other civic universities in the nineteenth century and the term 'red brick university' was born.

Whilst history is very important to the VG&M, so is the future. The new website, which can be seen here - http://vgm.liv.ac.uk, has been designed and implemented to act as a vivid and engaging platform to this iconic Liverpool tourist attraction and the treasures it holds.

The museum area, occupying the original Tate library on the second floor of the building showcases materials from many unusual collections including dentistry, zoology and even oceanography.
The run up to Christmas is a busy time at the VG&M, with a wide range of talks, workshops and events, the majority free. You can also enjoy a seasonal meal in the fantastic ground floor Waterhouse cafe for a limited period during December.
