Online training is a great way to improve the skills of current employees at a lower cost than sending them to a conference or college course. The problem is many online IT training videos can be dull, boring and hard to stay awake during, which is where Flips came in.

Flips is an interactive alien from outer space that makes a series of online IT training videos. The whole idea behind creating the alien known as Flips is to make employees excited about learning and watching the online training videos.

"We noticed that employees were often reluctant to want to sit through an entire online training video", said Andy Cougar, creator of Flips the alien. "Let's face it. The acting was bad, the voice of the videos came across in a monotone and it just made learning difficult. No one looked forward to those videos."

Andy Cougar created Flips in an effort to making IT training fun. Flips is a cute, adorable alien that walks employees through their entire IT training. He cracks jokes, explains stuff in ways people can understand, and even offers an interactive question and answer session at the end of the training.

"I just wanted something that people would look forward to when they heard they were going through IT training", said Cougar. "IT training can be fun if presented in the right way. This is and I really hope that it makes people excited about the whole thing."

Most employees were excited about the announcement of Flips. However, some thought the whole concept to be a little childish.

"When I first heard about Flips I thought 'man we aren't in grade school anymore'," said James Horn, an IT consultant who used the interactive online IT training videos. "I pictured some sort of cartoon alien who was like from Sesame Street that isn't what Flips is at all. He is fun, exciting and he's got a wicked sense of humor. I love it!"

The Flips IT training video series seems to have taken off since its release. Over 1,000 copies of the series have been ordered and there have been several requests for Flips the alien to appear in other training videos.

"The future is bright for Flips", said Cougar. "Who knows where you'll see him next!"
