Apparel and home furnishings prices will rise 10% to 15%
NEW YORK -- Consumer commodities especially apparel and home furnishings at retail are expected to increase by 10% to 15% soon this spring and into summer, according to a Capital Business Credit survey of manufacturers and importers.

A survey was conducted on nearly 95% of 70 manufacturers and importers during the week of March 14 that revealed they expect the rise in cotton prices to affect goods with high cotton content, such as t-shirts, sheets and fabrics, and 44.4% expect prices of those products to increase by 10% or more.
62% from the surveyed people said logistics costs have increased more than 5% in the past year, and 64.1% of those identified an increase in logistics costs plan to pass at least a portion of the hike along to the retailer and consumer.
95% of respondents have experienced raw materials costs hike in the past 12 months. To handle such hike, 89.9% will be replacing some cotton content with rayon and other materials.
Whatever is the fate of the prices in fabrics, the fashion industry will never stop whether it is embroidered polo shirts or logo polo shirts manufactured using cotton, people buy it at every cost. Customized shirts or t-shirts are in great craze among people.
