The Mystery of the Holiday Gift Supply Chain: A Talk with Dr. Scott Mason at Science Café on December 11, 2012
EngenuitySC will expose the guts of holiday gifting with a talk by supply chain expert, Dr. Scott Mason of Clemson University, at Science Café on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Speakeasy cocktail bar in Five Points.

In a relaxed pub environment that encourages audience questions and discussion, Dr. Mason will discuss the science of getting holiday gifts to stores and your doorsteps in connection with the commercial holiday season.
Free admission, cash bar and a convivial atmosphere are hallmarks of Science Café, home to "The Year of the SmartState" - a new, yearlong partnership between EngenuitySC, the Midlands' public/private knowledge economy partnership, and the SmartState Program™ (also known as the South Carolina Centers of Economic Excellence Program).
Dr. Scott Mason, an expert in large-scale supply systems modeling, optimization and algorithms, is the Fluor SmartState Endowed Chair in Supply Chain Optimization at Clemson University. He brings extensive experience in his field to South Carolina and its private industry partners, particularly in the area of capital project supply chains.
Mason's work strengthens Clemson University's established supply chain programs. He also serves as a powerful intellectual resource to private industry, including freight and warehouse companies as well as those seeking to establish distribution hubs in South Carolina.
Dr. Mason is a senior member of the Institute for Industrial Engineers and member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
On the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., knowledge economy movers and shakers convene at Science Café at Speakeasy to enjoy high quality adult beverages, order food from the Delaney's menu, and hear free talks by some of South Carolina's top leaders in medicine, technology and innovation.
