Local Author Joins the Ranks of a Limited List

Tim Woods remarked, I was raised in a family that focused on education and reading and as a child I was always looking for authors with whom I could identify.

Tampa, FL (prHWY.com) December 3, 2012 - US, Washington, DC (November 28, 2012) - Timothy Woods recognized at a young age that there were very few young African American male authors. After completing his degree in Communications and Media, he set forth on the path towards his dream of writing an entertaining fiction novel. While several media sources focus on the "achievement gap" in education, Mr. Woods hopes to showcase diversity in his storyline and the new era of community. He anticipates that his newly released book entitled M-DJ will inspire other young men to have a greater connection to the world of literature.

I hope this book can encourage other young people and especially minorities to increase their reading on a variety of topics and potentially become writers."

M-DJ is a story about Med Cherish, a promising intern at SocialView, a start-up social media company. By night, Med is an aspiring media deejay. A streetwise young man, Med learned as a child to survive and thrive in foster care after the deaths of his parents. When Entiz Corporation announces that it is buying SocialView, Med is surprised to be invited to meet with the new owner, Max Entiz. Max learned of Med's DJ skills and invites him to work as a media deejay at the new Club Shakti. But when Med accidently films a shocking scene on the streets of New York and then mistakenly unveils his footage at the club, he has to enlist his best friend Pete Fanchulli's help to escape alive from Max's unbridled fury.

Tim Woods is from New York, NY and currently lives in Washington, DC where he works for a government contractor and DJ's for a local establishment and private events. His book M-DJ is available on Amazon.com. He is also working on a new transitional media book for young readers set to debut in 2013.
