Botany products include herbs micro-plants, and many related pharmaceutical products, and find application and close correlation with many other pharmaceutical products and their usage.

As early as the 19th century, scientists began to retrieve plant extracts and ingredients for making medicines. Chemists also formulated their compounds in parallel to herbal medicines for complex medicines made from plant compounds which boost the immune system. Herbal coils are used to fight the mosquitoes.
Phycology is a specialized area for the study of algae, as those are vital components of the food chain in water-based habitats. Herbal products are effectively used against a range of ailments and conditions, in most oriental countries and parts of the Indian subcontinent.
Botany studies also aid in production of timber and its conservation. Plants also provide raw materials for solvents and adhesives, fabrics and even in the form of building materials. Food science and technology is a specialization that deals uses plant products from food extracts.
Certain aromatic plants are used for the fragrance and flavors needed to make recipes belonging to a range of cuisines. A prominent additive used in ingredients is vanillin, or phenolic aldehyde, derived from the Vanilla planifola in Mexico but is now being also grown in tropical countries like Madagascar. It is used in the confectionary and fragrance industries.
