Melbourne, Australia (prHWY.com) December 11, 2012 - / www.nationalvisas.com.au / - Becoming a Permanent Resident of Australia is one of the best ways to migrate to Australia. However, once a person becomes a Permanent Resident of Australia there are certain terms and conditions that you need to be aware of to ensure you can leave and re-enter Australia and or become an Australian citizen.

A Permanent Visa will enable its holder to travel in and out of Australia for up to five years beginning on the date the visa is granted. However, as soon as these five years elapse, you will need to apply for a Resident Return Visa if you wish to depart from and re-enter Australia as a Permanent Resident.

The Resident Return Visa is a permanent visa intended for former or current Australian permanent residents and former Australian citizens. If it has been 5 years since your permanent residency has been granted that you hold a resident return visa to gain entry back into the country.

Are you in this situation?

Check your permanent visa for its expiry. If it has expired or is about to expire you will need to apply for a Resident Return Visa.

Should you decide to apply for this visa administrative charges apply that cannot be refunded if your application is unsuccessful or withdrawn post lodgement.

Each application is to be submitted by an individual and he or she must pay the corresponding charge.
