India tours host nearly seven lakh tourists in November, 2012
FTA reports from the year 2008, consistently suggest the increase in the number of foreign tourist arrivals in India. The FTA of November 2012 has shown a three percentage rise when compared to the previous year.

Incredible India campaign has breathed a new life to the India tour packages such as Golden Triangle tours, Goa tours, Kerala backwater tours and Rajasthan tours so on. The income generated from these tour packages contributes the lion's share of tourism revenue in India. Indian tourism attained 22.4 percentage growths at foreign exchanges till the end of November 2012. In previous year tourism in India earned a revenue of 7,941 crore rupee, and this year it went up to 9,723 crore till November.
In order to ensure the growth of tourism sector, government has amended the regulations imposed over tourist visa slightly. Government allowed 60 days cooling off period to the foreigners between their visits to India. This was a move to ensure the increase in the number of foreigners to India. The Ministry of tourism hopes that this amendment will help the growth of India tours as well as hotels in India. The significant point to stress is that India has only 0.64 per cent share of international tourist arrivals.
While relaxing the visa rules, government prospects a huge impact in the foreign tourist arrivals of next year. Winter season in India this year hosted nearly 59 lakh tourists. Government hopes nearly 65 Lakh tourists will reach India by the end of next season, because of the relaxation of visa rules.
