Houman Rezazadeh-Azar Announces Receipt of Bachelor of Science Degree
Houman Rezazadeh-Azar has received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Athabasca University, graduating with exemplary grades and university honors.

"I am very pleased to have graduated with honors and distinctions. I put a tremendous amount of effort into my studies and I am happy to see that my work has paid off," remarked Houman Rezazadeh-Azar, who graduated with an overall A+ GPA and multiple awards. Houman Rezazadeh-Azar was invited to be inducted to the Golden Key International Honor Society, University of British Columbia Chapter. He was also named to the Honours List at Athabasca University, and he graduated with the ranking of Great Distinction.
While attending university, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar was involved with two scientific research projects. While conducting research in the field of neuro-opthamology, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar worked with Dr. Brian Sexton to complete a manuscript that detailed the incidence and etiology of Sixth Nerve Palsy.
"Working on these projects allowed me to gain hands on experience in the research field. I learned how to collaboratively develop and propose hypotheses, decide upon appropriate methods, and conduct a long-term research project," said Houman Rezazadeh-Azar of his research experience.
While a student at Athabasca University and the University of British Columbia, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar was a volunteer academic tutor in addition to his own research duties and study tasks. Houman Rezazadeh-Azar guided the students to create tailored learning plans and develop the skills, habits, and attitudes necessary to succeed in a university environment.
"Teaching is the best method of learning. As I worked with other students to help them reach their goals, I found that I was achieving my own more quickly and efficiently," said Houman Rezazadeh-Azar.
Houman Rezazadeh-Azar hopes to pursue further education in the sciences and to use the experience gained in the universities to embark upon a career in line with his aptitude for research, study, and teaching.
In additional to his many academic successes, he has also been involved with community service and commendable extracurricular work. He was a children and youth instructor, provided relief to Haiti after the devastating earthquake by traveling there on three separate occasions, and has co-authored an educational book.
