Austin, TX (prHWY.com) December 19, 2012 - Austin, TX - To the Austin, Texas law firm of Peek & Toland, the practice of law is an opportunity to serve others. On December 12, attorneys Jeff Peek and Steve Toland will host "It's a Wonderful Christmas Party," a fundraising event that will include a silent auction and raffle to benefit the Casa Hogar de la Montaña (Children's Home of the Mountains) and the International Justice Mission (IJM).

The silent auction will include bids on University of Texas footballs autographed by Longhorns Coach Mack Brown, former Longhorn Heisman Trophy Winners Earl Campbell and Vince Young, former Longhorn Defensive Tackle Doug English, and a University of Texas basketball autographed by Longhorns Basketball Coach Rick Barnes. Gift certificates from some of Austin's best local restaurants will be auctioned, and a raffle will feature a pair of 1.10 carat diamond stud earrings and a 55-inch Panasonic Smart Viera LED HDTV.

Peek & Toland's support of Casa Hogar de la Montaña (CHM) in Saltillo, Mexico, corresponds with the firm's core value to share their success and spread their blessings. CHM provides family-type housing in a Christian environment for children in need of care and guidance. Attorney Jeff Peek explains, "Having both been blessed with the opportunity to live in Mexico, and having represented thousands of clients from Mexico over the years, Steve and I feel called to help make a difference in the lives of these young people so they can have a prosperous future."

The International Justice Mission (IJM) provides legal advocacy for victims of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and forced slavery. IJM lawyers, investigators, and aftercare professionals work with local officials to rescue victims and to secure aftercare so that perpetrators can be prosecuted. IJM also defends people who are falsely accused or wrongly imprisoned in places where justice systems are corrupt and where there is no legal representation for the poor. Attorney Steve Toland says, "Historically, international aid organizations have worked selflessly to bring healthcare, food, and other vital resources to the global poor, but they have not been able to address the victimization that goes hand-in-hand with poverty. By bringing legal services to a group that is greatly underserved, the IJM resonates with the core values and mission of Peek & Toland."
