Jeffersonville, IN (prHWY.com) December 23, 2012 - Jamey Noel knew he wanted to serve as a state officer while he was working for Utica Township Fire & EMS. He made the decision to attend Indiana State Police Academy and he completed his academy work in 1993. The same year, Jamey Noel started work as a State Trooper.

"Even though I started my career in law enforcement, I continued working for the Utica Township and New Chapel's Fire & EMS where I had been promoted to the position of Chief," says Jamey Noel. Jamey Noel continued his career as Chief while he continued and grew his career as an Indiana State Police Officer. Before long, Jamey Noel took the position of Undercover Detective where in 1995 he was part of IDEA undercover narcotics operation.

"I made the decision to return to school. I started attending Indiana University Southeast and earned by Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Supervision. They say education opens doors and I knew having a degree would grow my chances for success," he has said. Assuredly, Jamey Noel was correct. He was promoted to Sergeant and most recently to the position of First Sergeant.
Jamey Noel's latest promotion came in August 2011. His new title of First Sergeant also leaves him with additional duties and responsibilities one of which is to serve as Assistant District Commander Indiana State Police. "My post is the Sellersburg Post which contains five counties in Southern Indiana," explains Jamey Noel.

Besides his latest promotion to First Sergeant, Jamey Noel has received awards and recognition for his past work. "So far one of the moments that stand out the most in my career was when I saved a UPS driver from a frozen pond in 2004," says Jamey Noel. That year Jamey Noel received two awards: the Indiana State Police Life Saving Award and the Governors Award for Valor. In addition to the two awards in 2004, Jamey Noel was named American Legion Police Officer of 2006. Each award and recognition motivated him to work harder towards the promotion of First Sergeant he received in late 2011.
