Oakmont, PA (prHWY.com) December 24, 2012 - Pittsburgh, PA, December 24, 2012 -- This time the riding was shot in the Andalucía region of Spain. These videos help cyclists train indoors when the weather is not conducive to outdoor cycling, or for group cycling classes in health clubs and cycling studios that are equipped with a projector and a screen within their cycling room. As thought leaders in the field of virtual cycling, Global Ride continued to push the envelope with the Spain Series by putting a microphone on the lead coach of the ride while he was riding and coaching the group. The result is an entirely different feel and experience as one watches it from the stationary bike or road bike and trainer.

Global Ride Productions has stayed true to their promise to film a different country every year, with Hawaii being included with all the other countries because of its uniqueness and distance from the mainland. After Hawaii, it made sense that the company filmed in countries that held the three grand tours of professional cycling, the Tour de France (France), the Giro d'Italia (Italy) and the Vuelta a Espana (Spain). In addition to being frequently ridden by cyclists, these romance language countries are also the most commonly visited by American tourists as well, and hence the sequence made sense.

Being on your bicycle riding indoors to cycling DVDs is not the way most cyclists like to enjoy their bikes. This is one of the reasons companies like Global Ride can exist, as they provide cyclists of all levels a visually stimulating environment as they pedal their bikes to "nowhere". This experience is enhanced even more when applied in a large health club or riding studio where there are multiple riders and a professional sound system that carries with it the energy and beat of both the music and often the matching RPM for pedaling.

Even though there were no health clubs during the 2009 launch of Global Ride's first box set which had screens and projectors for showing these cycling training videos, Spinning® rooms in health clubs across the country are now including these vital pieces of equipment with most upgrades, new construction or remodeling projects. The education Global Ride did with their 10 cities in 11 day tour in 2009 seems to be the spark that got it started. Naturally many individual riders enjoy these alone in their home as they work out, but it is the group experience that compelled Gene Nacey to found the business in the first place.

"I had ridden in my basement, and it was OK. However, when I discovered Spinning® at a local club, I fell in love with the entire group experience. The only problem was that I was missing the road. I knew that if we had some good riding visuals in the room that even those that don't ride outside may enjoy it more. We shot some test footage and my clients responses to early showings confirmed it; it elevated the entire experience." Said Gene Nacey, director and producer of Global Ride's DVDs

The creative process did not stop there though, each DVD introduces something different and the Spain Series is no exception. Instead of recruiting cycling coaches to record voice over instructional tracks after the fact, Global Ride brought their top USA Cycling coach, Tom Scotto with them on the film shoot. Scotto was no rookie when it came to coaching DVDs as he made his debut with voice-overs on the France Series just the year before.

"While it was originally just an experiment, it has proved to add so much realism to the end product that I think we will be doing this on every film shoot going forward. I'll tell you one thing, you can't afford to go too hard, too fast when your coaching as you're riding. It definitely helped me to keep my riding under control, but you'll be able to tell when I had to go hard, as I get real quiet." Said Tom Scotto, USA Cycling Elite Level Coach
