A special & unique neck joint gives you unrestricted access to the upper register of the neck with a feel like there is not a heel while the weight-relieved, thinner body has a rib cage contoured carve, allowing you to get up-close, personal and most importantly, comfortable with your Gibson Les Paul Axcess Custom. Lending to all of these significant modifications for playability & feel, the Axcess is equipped electronically as well for tonal nirvana. 496R and 498T pickups in the neck and bridge positions -- the ceramic 496R provides incredible sustain and definition with no muddiness and the 498T Alnico V is the perfect companion in the bridge position providing a high output with emphasis on mid-range and highs while a push/pull switch on each volume knob provides coil splitting for each pickups for single coil tones.
The differences of this limited Axcess Custom versus an Axcess Standard are: Carved AAAAA Maple Top, Ebony Fretboard, Standard Nut, Figured Acrylic Block Inlays, LP Custom style body, neck, and headstock Binding, Gold Hardware, Stoptail Bridge and 496R & 498T Pickups.For over 40 years, Rush has been pushing the boundaries of progressive rock music with complex song structures, rippin' solo's, and killer riffs. Featuring the traditional Les Paul tonewoods of mahogany, maple, and rosewood, the guitar has some unusual modifications to make it a Les Paul unlike any other.
The Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess carries two high-output humbucking pickups with series/parallel wiring options via its push-pull volume controls, and a Floyd Rose® licensed unit that not only provides the world's most efficient vibrato system, but is also loaded with GraphTech™ Ghost® piezo bridge saddles. Access traditional Gibson magnetic humbucker tones, mix it up with fat and funky series/parallel options, tap the Ghost's® realistic acoustic tones, or blend acoustic and magnetic voices-- the sky's the limit from this sonic chameleon, whose sound-shifting depths are virtually limitless. What's more, you can route it all through a traditional mono jack (labeled "Regular") using a single guitar cable, or use two cables to split your sonic trickery off into separate output paths using the "Regular" and the "Life-O-Sound" output jacks together.
