(prHWY.com) January 10, 2013 - Parker, CO -- If you ask what a child wants to be when they grow up you tend to find there are a number of common professions. One common answer is police officer. These men and women of the law have always had the difficult task of trying to protect the majority from the few who would cause harm with reckless abandon.

Stephen Hasler made the ultimate decision to pursue law enforcement even though the job wouldn't always be easy. "I graduated from the famous 'Bishopsgarth' Detective Training Academy in England," says Stephen Hasler. He graduated from the academy in 1987 and spent a total of 14 years with the British Police Service. But, Stephen Hasler decided to work in American law enforcement so he moved to Colorado.

"I attended Pikes Peak Regional Academy where I was voted Class President and graduated Speaker for the Class," says Stephen Hasler. He shortly afterward began his career as Chief of Police in Erie, Colorado. But Stephen Hasler did not stop his academic work just because he was working. In 1996, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with Honors.

Stephen Hasler enjoyed working for his local police department but also wanted to take part in regional policing as well. He decided to get further training and was accepted into the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. "The training program is an 11 week rigorous academic and physical training program where only 1% of the world's top police executives are chosen by the FBI to attend," says Stephen Hasler.

He completed the training and later graduated from the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development's 60th session in 2008. This was after he was picked to be the City of Lone Tree's first Chief of Police in 2004. He was picked from a nationwide search of candidates because of his knowledge and strong commitment to Community Policing After being selected for the position; Stephen Hasler built the police department in only 3 months and turned it into one of the most prestigious departments in the State of Colorado.
