(prHWY.com) April 28, 2011 - Irving, TX -- R&M Publishing has announced the availability of its newest publication, "Ring of Daggers." Written by "Rae and Mark," the book features an intriguing mix of murder, mystery and ancient legend.

"After publishing our earlier book, "Magic Squares," we wanted to write a novel that made use of this particular mathematical curiosity," said "Rae and Mark." "We've always enjoyed a good adventure-mystery novel, so this seemed like the best genre for us."

David Nelson is the hero of "Ring of Daggers," a math teacher from an obscure boarding school in the northwest of England. During a trip to Paris, Nelson finds an intriguing and ancient artifact. The object is linked to an ancient legend involving the Doomsday Calendar, and Nelson soon finds himself embroiled in a perilous quest that takes him around the world in an effort to solve the mystery of the artifact and thwart the efforts of a small group of zealots hell-bent on revenge, thus preventing a disaster of epic proportions. The globetrotting sleuth finds murder, adventure and romance on his journey.

"Ring of Daggers" incorporates elements of a previous book by "Rae and Mark" entitled "Magic Squares," a little-known mathematical curiosity dating back to 2,800 B.C. Magic squares have been used in the East for centuries as a means of divination known as the Yantra, a practice believed by Eastern religions to have magical benefits.

The duo's first book, "Magic Squares," was written as a reference book. The writing partners have flexed their writing muscle in "Ring of Daggers" to create a story that will appeal to enthusiasts of mysteries, adventure stories and exotic legends.

R&M Publishing is a relatively new venture, but the owners have big plans for the small publishing house. Plans are in the works to open the publisher's doors to a wide variety of additional options including print-on-demand and eBooks.

"Ring of Daggers" is at Amazon.com and other outlets following its official release.
